파주중앙도서관은 최근 변화가 많은 파주의 모습을 기록하고자 도시 기록 사업을 진행하고 있다. 2023년 금촌3동 새말지구를 시작으로, 2024년에는 연풍리 용주골을 기록했다. 연풍리는 1950년대 후반 미군 기지촌이 형성되면서 급격한 도시화를 겪었으며, 그 영향으로 연풍교 건너편에 성매매 집결지가 형성되었다. 1970년대 미군 철수 이후 기지촌은 쇠퇴했지만, 성매매 집결지는 최근까지 유지되었다. 2023년 파주시가 연풍리 재개발을 추진하면서 성매매 집결지 폐쇄를 결정했다.
테크캡슐은 변화를 앞둔 연풍리의 공간적 역사를 기록하기 위해 마을을 드론으로 촬영하여 공간 정보를 취득하고, 과거 성매매 시설로 사용되었던 연풍리 성매매 집결지의 거점 시설을 3D 스캔하였다. 특히, 파주시가 최근 매입하여 거점 시설로 운영할 예정인 공간의 원형을 기록하고 이를 시각화하여 지역과 공간의 특수성을 보여주는 영상을 제작하였다.
The Paju City Library has been conducting an urban documentation project to record the rapidly changing landscape of Paju. Starting with Saemal District in Geumchon 3-dong in 2023, the project documented Yeonpung-ri’s Yongjugol in 2024.
Yeonpung-ri underwent rapid urbanization in the late 1950s with the formation of a U.S. military base town. As a result, a red-light district emerged across Yeonpung Bridge. Although the military base town declined after the U.S. troop withdrawal in the 1970s, the red-light district remained active until recently. In 2023, Paju City initiated a redevelopment project in Yeonpung-ri and decided to shut down the red-light district.
To document the spatial history of Yeonpung-ri before these changes, TechCapsule captured aerial footage of the area using drones to collect spatial data. Additionally, it conducted 3D scans of key facilities that were once used for prostitution. Notably, TechCapsule recorded and visualized the original state of a key facility recently acquired by Paju City, which will be repurposed as a community hub. The resulting video highlights the unique characteristics of the area and its transformation.
