〈공간, 숨〉은 작동을 멈춘 공장의 3D 스캔 데이터에 움직임을 부여하여, 대량생산체계 속에서 시간과 싸운 노동의 흔적을 살아 있는 풍경으로 형상화한 영상 작품이다. 정지된 공간 데이터는 박제된 기록처럼 보이지만, 그 안에는 무한한 가능성이 잠재한다. 2022년 가동이 멈춘 한국지엠 부평2공장의 곳곳에 남은 노동의 숭고함에 영감을 받아, 데이터에 숨을 불어넣었다.
테크캡슐이 협력 작가로 참여한 전시〈모터타임즈: 멈춘 곳에서 다시 시작하다〉는 경인콜렉티브가 기획하고 부평구문화재단과 금속노조 한국지엠지부가 주최했다. 이 전시는 1962년 새나라자동차로 출발한 한국 최초의 완성차 공장을 무대로, 멈춘 부평2공장을 1년간 기록하고 노동자들의 이야기를 모아 부평아트센터와 실제 공장 현장에서 두 파트로 구성된 아카이빙 전시다.
Space, Breath animates 3D scan data from a halted factory, transforming the traces of labour—fought against time within a mass-production system—into a living landscape. Frozen spatial data may appear like a preserved specimen, yet infinite possibilities lie dormant within it. Inspired by the sublimity of labour imprinted across the GM Korea Bupyeong Plant No. 2, which ceased operation in 2022, TechCapsule breathed life into the data.
The work was presented as part of Motor Times: Restart from Where It Stopped, an archiving exhibition organised by Gyeongin Collective and co-hosted by the Bupyeong Cultural Foundation and the Korean Metal Workers' Union GM Korea Branch. The exhibition recorded the halted Bupyeong Plant No. 2 over the course of a year, gathering workers' stories and staging the results in two parts—at Bupyeong Art Center and inside the actual factory.
