Archiving in Bulgwangcheon is a video project planned and produced by TechCapsule under the Eunpyeong Cultural Foundation's regional culture project support programme. The work documents the transformation and history of Bulgwangcheon, a stream that begins at Bukhansan, passes through Eunpyeong-gu, Seodaemun-gu, and Mapo-gu, joins Hongjecheon, and flows into the Han River. In the 1950s, it was a waterway that flooded every monsoon season in a working-class neighbourhood. In the 1970s–80s, it was buried under concrete to become roads and markets. By the 2000s, restoration efforts brought it back as an ecological stream. The project traced these shifts—including the remarkable fact that the buried channel closely mirrors the route of Seoul Metro Line 6's Eungam Loop—drawing on diverse archival materials and scholarly sources. Using 3D scanning technology, the team captured the hidden layers of Bulgwangcheon invisible in everyday life, translating an entire cycle of urbanisation compressed within a single small stream into video.
