하우스오브레퓨즈의 공간은 공사가 중단된 이후의 시간을 고스란히 간직하고 있을 뿐 아니라, 그동안의 세월을 함께 공생해온 존재들을 온전히 존중한다. 건축가 김정임(서로아키텍츠)은 중단된 시점의 구조체와 그 안에 뿌리내린 생명체, 그리고 다시 발견되기까지의 풍화 과정을 섬세하게 발굴하며, 이 작은 생태계에 매료되었던 의뢰인의 흥분을 차분하게 도닥여준다. 테크캡슐는 하우스오브레퓨즈에 내재되어 있는 시간성에 주목하여, 공간에 덧입혀져 왔던 사연의 단서를 태동하는 현재 진행형의 생명력으로 재해석한다.
The space at House of Refuge not only preserves the passage of time since construction was halted, but also fully respects the beings that have coexisted within it over the years. Architect Kim Jung-im of Seoro Architects dedicatedly uncovers the structural elements as it was left at the moment of interruption, the living organisms that have taken root within it, and the traces of weathering until its rediscovery, gently tempering the excitement of the client at being captivated by this small ecosystem. TechCapsule focuses on the temporality embedded within House of Refuge, reinterpreting the traces of stories layered onto the space as a living vitality that continues to unfold in the present.
