파주 금촌3동 새말지구는 금촌역 북측에 위치한 마을로, 주택재개발정비사업으로 인해 곧 사라질 예정이다. 이에 따라 마을의 모습을 기억하기 위해 다양한 방식으로 기록하고, 이를 바탕으로 새말지구 일대의 모형을 제작했다. 새말지구의 지형, 건물, 식생 등 물리적 환경 정보를 수집하여 지역을 상세히 조사하고, 드론 매핑과 지상 3D 스캔을 통해 새말지구의 3차원 공간 정보를 확보했다. 이렇게 수집한 데이터를 가공하여, 컬러 3D 프린팅을 통해 지역을 세밀하게 재현한 모형을 완성하였다. 이러한 지역 조사와 3차원 공간 정보는 기록 자료로서 가치가 있으며, 이를 재구성한 영상은 주민들이 생활했던 새말지구의 전경부터 세부 공간까지 다양한 모습을 생생하게 보여준다.
Saemal District in Geumchon 3-dong, Paju, is a village located north of Geumchon Station that is soon to be demolished due to a residential redevelopment project. To preserve a record of the village, various methods were employed to document its current state.
A detailed survey of the area was conducted by collecting data on the local topography, buildings, vegetation, and other physical environmental features. Three-dimensional spatial data of the district was acquired through drone mapping and ground-based 3D scanning. This data was then processed to produce a highly detailed physical model of the area using color 3D printing. The resulting survey and spatial data hold significant value as archival records. A video based on the reconstructed data vividly captures the Saemal District — from panoramic views to detailed interior spaces — preserving the memory of the community that once lived there.
